Hot Air Ballooning in Tasmania

Sorry to our Loyal Tassie Customers

This season 2012, we have been refused passage on the Spirit of Tasmania shipping our equipment, they say our Gas cylinders are too large and a risk to their passengers.

Not sure what risk results from all the LPG powered cars that are  carried on board, guess TT are the experts! I would suggest that our $12000 of stainless steel gas vessels pose significantly less risk!!

We are unable to provide our season 2012, but are planning alternate transport arrangements for 2013 season.

During the period  January to mid March each year we normally operate in Tasmania in the Longford area.

In today’s helter-skelter hectic world where most things seem to be going at 150k’s per hour, relaxation and “down-time” is at a premium. Unfortunately too many leisure activities today are associated with loud music, flashing lights and mega “hype” so let us introduce you to a thrill of a lifetime that involves none of these.

Join us for a Dawn Flight from near the Meander Valley and marvel at the spectacle as the sunrise shines along the Western Tiers. We fly in the Hadspen,Westbury, Bracknell and Longford Area's.

Longford is south west of Launceston and from there only a 20 minute drive and is a classified historic town.

Christ Church is an historic feature in Longford and is well worth a visit. The church's bell and clock were gifts from George lV and it is the site of the first settlers.

 Glorious Tasmanian landscapes

Tasmania as you have never seen it!

Survey the glorious Tasmanian landscape as we drift along with the wind for an hour or so, when the only sounds are the occasional barking of a dog or the bleating of sheep and mooing of cattle from the paddocks below. From the air you could see one of the many historic churches in Perth, which is only a 10 minute drive from Longford. The ever- changing views below will stay with you for life.Regrettably we have to disturb the peace and quiet now and again with the odd quick burst from the burners to keep us aloft. The majestic views of the sun peeking out from behind the clouds will bring the photographer out in you all.

After Flight service

Once we have landed, the experience isn’t over then, as there we present you with a sparkling wine, orange juice, and luxury chocolates.Once we have packed up, we then transport you back by road to your vehicles at Longford, where you can wonder across  to JJ's for breakfast if you wish, this is not provided by Goldrush Ballooning.

What to wear?

The coldest you will be is when we first meet, and on the launch field, so we say "dress in layers" that way you can take a coat or jacket off and leave in the retrieve vehicle.

We recommend a flat covered shoe like a boot or sandshoe to be worn.

No strappy sandals or thongs will be permitted nor will shorts or short sleeve shirts.

Do not wear anything synthetic (outer clothing only)

If confused about this please ring and speak to us.
